Sugarcraft - Introduction to Painting on Cakes

This course is an ideal introduction to the basic techniques required for painting on cakes. You will learn how to dilute and dust colours to the correct consistency for painting and will learn how templates can be used to transfer designs on to icing ready for painting. You will also look at some freehand painting techniques. You will have the opportunity to practise the techniques and experiment with colours before completing 4 designs suitable for use as cupcake toppers. By the end of this course you should be able to -, Dilute and mix dust colours to the correct consistency for painting, Use templates to transfer designs on to icing, Demonstrate use of the painting techniques, Complete 4 painted designs suitable for use as cupcake toppers, Use all tools and equipment safely, This course is suitable for anyone interested in learning how to paint on cakes.

Please bring an apron and a box to take your finished models home in. You might also like to bring a camera, notebook and pen and a bottle of water to drink.
