Interior Design - City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate

The emphasis is on creativity and individual original design, it will include historical and contemporary design influences and architectural features. Students will be taught recognised methods, drawing elevation plans, creating swatch boards, costing as well as researching into paint, textiles,lighting and design materials. It will also include some basic design principles such as colour, line, shape, form and texture. The course is accredited by continous assessment and requires commitment to the work as well as allowing at least one day a week to work on tasks at home. On completion of the course, a successful candidate will receive the following: City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Creative Techniques ( Interiors ) 7157, This certificate is made up of the following awards, 7157 - 201 Developing Design Ideas, 7157 - 202 Sampling-Design Ideas, 7157 - 212 Home Office, 7157 - 213 Bedroom with ensuite, This course is for those with an interest in colour and design in the home, it could also lead into employment on satisfactory completion of the certificate. This course is suitable for beginners but those with some experience may find the course more useful. It is important to note that craft courses are practical and require a degree of manual dexterity. If you need to bring a carer with you, or be accompanied by another person, please ask to speak with the Programme Manager before you enrol.

Please bring an A3 Cartridge pad, notebook, small box of watercolour paints and brush, Pritt stick and scissors and A4 folder to the first session. You will also need a range of stationery items, drawing pens, set square and drawing board, the tutor will give advice on these at the first session.
