You will study the following mandatory units: • Principles of building construction, information and communication • Prepare background surfaces and mix plastering materials • Applying scratch coats to internal backgrounds • Fixing sheet materials • Applying floating coats to wall • Applying setting coats to wall • Health, safety and welfare in construction • You will complete 60 hours of work placement which will give you valuable work place experience. • A full tutorial programme to improve your employability skills and support you through your course. English and Maths English and maths qualifications are a requirement for most jobs and it is important that you are able to demonstrate your ability in these areas. If you do not already have a grade C or above in GCSE English and maths you will automatically undertake further study in these subjects as part of your study programme.
