Topics in the second year include: fields and further mechanics, looking at imaginary lines of force that apply across the entire universe, how they work and why they are so important, and explaining all types of motion. You will also study nuclear, thermal and cosmological physics. After this you will finally understand the TV programmes that Professor Brian Cox makes! Barnsley is a great student town with an excellent location; we are in-between Sheffield, Leeds, and Manchester - three of the North's most vibrant cities. At Barnsley College, we do everything we can to make your life here happy and rewarding. Our staff will go out of their way to help, and do anything they can to solve problems you might have. Student Services is situated in the reception area at the Old Mill Lane site, and can help you with all the things that will make your time at Barnsley College, easier and more rewarding. Barnsley College has a designated Health and Wellbeing Team who ensure that our staff and students are supported to exercise health lifestyle behaviours. The College works in partnership with the South West Yorkshire NHS Partnership Trust to provide a Health and Wellbeing service across College. Being a student at Barnsley Sixth Form College is about much more than your classes. Studying here is different to school; there are no bells, no uniforms and you’ll call your tutors by their first names. You’ll be treated as an adult and really start to develop your own learning style.
