The course is highly practical and allows for a mixture of skills-based class work and projects. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate with students from other performing arts disciplines on various productions and on study visits abroad. Previous years' study visits have included Budapest, Barcelona and New York. You'll study a number of topics including professional dance repertoire; exercise and relaxation; contemporary dance techniques; ballet; somatic practice; physical theatre; teaching dance for film; and choreography. In year one you'll study the following modules: process and production contextual studies specialist skills creating/staging performance facilitation Year two modules include: production company applied specialisms industry practice/work-based learning developing the practitioner contextual studies The course is focused on developing you as an independent practitioner. The modules you'll study have practical work at their core, which helps to nurture your growth as a creative artist. You'll be taught by highly skilled tutors with strong academic backgrounds, who have worked as professional actors, dancers and designers and can share with you their wealth of experience of working in the industry.
