On this one year course you will have an introductory unit on working with children and also study: The developing child, Safe, healthy and nurturing, environments for children, Children and Play, Communication and professional skills, Working with children from birth to age 5 years. You will also have approximately 65 days (two days per week) of practical training in a range of work placements, such as play groups, day nurseries or infant schools, giving you experience of working with different ages of children in different settings. You will be well supported by visits from our placement officer during these work placements.
