Access to HE Diploma: Teaching (Day)

The programme is for those who wish to progress on to degrees which will lead to careers in teaching in primary, secondary or further education, working in the early years or youth sectors, educational administration or other education-related fields. What will I Study: You will study Academic Study Skills and Education Studies. . . You will also choose one or two options from Economics, English Literature, History, Psychology, Sociology. . . You will be expected to attend between 2.5 or 3 days a week. This is a day-time only programme.. . You will be expected to undertake private study of 10-15 hours a week in addition to this. . . You must have experience as a voluntary teaching assistant or similar in schools, or be prepared to arrange this during the year.. . You will also have a personal tutor who will support you during the year and will advise you on your applications to higher education institutions. What can I do after the course: You can progress on to a range of possible degrees such as Education Studies, Primary Education, Early Childhood Studies and other education-related areas.
