Pottery - Beginners Throwing & Handbuild

A 5 day course for beginners/intermediates wanting to develop their own ideas in clay. All aspects of hand building and throwing on the wheel will be explored enabling the learner to discover their own creative potential. Who is suitable This course is for anyone new to pottery or those who have some experience. A relaxing but productive course and those who are practically minded will love the tactile element of clay. Beginners through to Advanced learners. This is a hands on course for learners to try different methods of making objects in a variety of clays and decorating them using various different techniques. Learners will explore various handbuilding techniques including pinched coiled slab building press moulding and throwing. Throwers will be shown the basic stages for creating bowls/cylinders using the potters wheel. You will learn about surface decoration oxides slips resist and texture through to firing. You will learn how to develop creative ideas with the skills gained from practising the techniques to produce finished clay items.(J266NC14E)
