Our Access courses prepare people for degree-level study in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Teacher Education, Sciences and Health Studies Many of our students go on to the Universities of Sussex, Brighton and Chichester (where we have some guaranteed interviews and some guaranteed places) and an increasing number of our students gain places at universities throughout Britain. The Access Courses is 'QAA approved', which means that it is validated by LASER Learning Awards (formerly Open College Network). The Access Certificate is a nationally recognised qualification: there are now about 1,000 Access courses across the country. Our course was designed in close collaboration with the Universities of Sussex and Brighton. It maintains an excellent reputation both in, and increasingly beyond, the southern region. Students on the Health pathway will study modules such as: Introduction to Biotechnology, Development and Inheritance, Health and Society & Introduction to Psychology. All students attend classes in the following core units: Communication and Presentation Skills;Developing Study Skills:Anti-Discriminatory Practice;Critical Thinking: Group Tutorial. There is time put aside for individual Guidance and Support Sessions for each student and all students complete a 5,000 word research project on a subject of their own choice by the end of the course. On this course you will study modules such as biotechnology, life systems, health studies, psychology, and sociology. All students attend classes in the following core units: communication and presentation skills; developing study skills: anti-discriminatory practice; and critical thinking: group tutorial. There is time put aside for individual guidance and support sessions for each student and all students complete a 5,000 word research project.
