The UAL: Awarding Body L3 Diploma in Graphics and Illustration is an exciting new addition to our expanding provision at City College. Graphics and illustration is all around us. It can be found in the form of a festival poster; an album cover; instructions on how to build a desk; illustrations in children’s books; advertising a product; packaging a product; promoting a charity; cartoons in the back of a newspaper... The list is endless! On this course you will learn how Graphics and Illustration can change minds; sell products; and tell a story. You will be exercising drawing skills; digital skills; and your imagination.

Summative tutor assessment will be at the end of each term assessing each of the tree units studied that term. Throughout the year learners will be supported with one-two-one feedback, clear action plans and constructive feedback to allow development and expansion providing advice and guidance. Preferably you would have your own drawing set, including a range of pencils, charcoal, colour marker pens in a range of sized nibs, a sketchbook, watercolour paints, and a range of paint brushes. While we do have some available at college to use, they are in high demand, so for convenience, a graphics tablet that is compatible with Macs and a camera is recommended.
