Learners will be able to use a variety of topics at survival level whilst acquiring a basic knowledge of the structure of the language. Topics will include greetings, numbers, food and drink, shopping, accommodation and directions. Speaking, listening, reading and to a lesser extent, writing skills, will be developed. Course outcomes: Learners will be able to: Identify a range of familiar spoken phrases Identify the main points from a short spoken passage Say short simple phrases Ask and answer simple questions and give basic information Recognise and read written phrases.
