Businesses are at the heart of the UK economy, innovating new products, meeting customer needs, developing the skills of their workers and creating wealth for local communities. The business theories you will learn about touch on the creative elements of marketing, motivating people and managing resources such as money, psychological elements of understanding customers and employees and decision making elements of suggesting strategies and plans for practical examples. By the end of this course, you will have an excellent understanding of how a business operates. You will have developed some impressive skills in presenting and using Powerpoint, using other work based IT software, discussions, working in a group and writing for a specific business audience – managers or customers. You will be trained in how to present professional work documents and will spend lesson time on computers to produce them. The course involves a great deal of research, enabling you to show prospective employers that you have the ability to carry out a range of business procedures relevant to any workplace. The Business Level 3 Diploma can be taken as a 60-credit course, equivalent to one A level, or a 120-credit course, equivalent to two A levels. The 120-credit course consists of five core units, which will be covered in Year 1, and seven optional units which will be selected for you from a list of 17 by the Business team.
