AS Level Film Studies

UPDATED 20150513 12:46:14

You will develop your understanding of film theory and apply your knowledge through analysis of whole films and extracts, and through practical activities. You will have the opportunity to view a range of films on a big screen, and have access to specialist equipment for practical work. In the first year you will study British and American films. You will look at technical elements of film, genre and narrative through close analysis of carefully selected examples. The second year is devoted to World Cinema focusing on film in Korea and Hong Kong. As in the first year there will be a single film close study.
