Education Studies: Access To Higher Education Diploma Level 3

This Access course is aimed at those who are interested in Education and would like to train to work in teaching or an education related occupation. You may be currently working or have worked as a teaching assistant, parent helper or volunteer in a school or other youth organisation or intending to so. Access to Higher Education Diploma courses provides an alternative route to Higher Education. The course prepares you for entry into Higher Education such as a Foundation degree, Humanities degree or Teacher Training course. On the course you will study the development of education in the UK and current issues in education, as well as complete some work experience in an educational organisation and develop your practical teaching skills. You will also develop your self confidence in your ability to learn and develop the necessary academic skills such as essay writing and research skills, needed for university. The Access to Higher Education courses have been running successfully at City College since 1991 and we have an excellent record in students progressing to university or employment. Course content: On this course you will study: * Development of Education in the UK, * Work Experience in an Educational Organisation, * Practical Teaching Skills, Psychology and Education * Study Skills, * Independent Research Project, * Critical Thinking, Reviewing and Planning for the Future * ICT. * GCSE Maths and English Equivalences There will be also be weekly tutorials.
