Students who are interested in a career in hairdressing. No previous hairdressing experience is necessary. Applicants should have a good standard of literacy and numeracy. The course will prepare you for entry into the Hairdressing Industry. Candidates will learn how to shampoo hair, blow dry hair, set hair, cut hair, colour hair, advise and consult with clients and promote retail sales, communicate with colleagues. These are techniques required to work as a Junior Stylist. Level 2 Hairdressing is gained through practical work in the salon, assignments, projects, a portfolio of evidence and independent exam papers. Your course will be made up with a mixture of practical and theory lessons in a working salon. You will be taught by a team of highly qualified professionals in our hairdressing salons. Students on part-time courses are required to organise their own clients for formative & summative assessments, for which there will be a service charge. Year 1 progression is onto year 2 of NVQ Level 2 hairdressing. Note that course fee's are charged for each year. Registration and qualification fee is paid in year 1. The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing (QCF) provides learners with the necessary knowledge and skills to work as a junior hairdresser. This qualification also provides suitable progression opportunities to Level 3 studies or employment.
