Who is the course for? This is a two year, full time programme for students who want to study applied sciences. The course will appeal to those who: - Have a keen interest all aspects of science - Enjoy studying a subject that is relevant to their own lives and experiences - Want to find out more about science through personal investigations - Want the opportunity to carry out practical work as well as class work - Are interested in developing an understanding of science and how to solve scientific problems - Want to study a course that is active and enjoyable - Want to move on to a related career or higher education course. The course has a 2 A level equivalence. in year two a Free Standing Maths Unit is delivered whcih currently attracts UCAS points. What can it lead to? Students can go on to study a Science, Applied Science or Engineering subject at university. Alternatively, students may choose to go straight into employment in areas such as Forensic Science, Quality Control, Environmental Protection or Health and Safety. Those achieving an MP may wish to consider progressing to the HND in Applied Chemistry at Harrow College. What will I study? A wide range of scientific disciplines including Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. In year one you will also study a Level 2 Free-Standing Mathematics qualifaction - Foundations of Advanced Mathematics, an Award in Podcasting and an Award in Environmental Sustainability. In year two you will study a Level 3 Free Standing Mathematics qualification.
