What will I do on this course? This course is based on practical skills and what you know about the job. It will help you get ready to join the construction industry as a bricklayer. Topics you study will include: Carrying out safe working practices Information, quantities and communicating with others Building methods and construction technology Interpreting working drawings to set out masonry structures Thin joint masonry cladding Building solid walling, isolated and attached piers Building cavity walling forming masonry structures. How will I be assessed? Well assess what you know about the job and your skills in a number of ways, including: Practical tests Watching you work Assignments and knowledge questions Project work A portfolio An end of year GOLA test.
