This Sport level two programme, with a coaching pathway, provides the opportunity for you to learn how to improve your personal health and well-being, to take the first steps in becoming a sports coach and to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to plan, deliver and evaluate safe sport, fitness and exercise sessions. The course combines a mix of theory and practical sport. You will learn about the basics of sport coaching, health and exercise, nutrition, anatomy and physiology for sport and health and safety in a fitness environment. Your programme includes a 4 day residential stay which is organised in partnership with SWFCs National Citizenship Service (NCS) scheme. Through this, you will gain experience of a range of sporting and outdoor activities and undertake some work experience. Other course enrichment activities can include visits to sport organisations and venues. You have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications such as the Community Sport Leader Award. You also have the opportunity to take part in a range of sports both recreationally and competitively including the chance to compete in our football and basketball teams in the British Colleges leagues.
