English - GCSE

UPDATED 20141124 02:11:05

The course is designed to give students new opportunities to improve both their written and spoken English skills. Students work towards a series of controlled assessments focusing on the study of spoken language, descriptive and narrative writing and the detailed study of a literary text. Students are also assessed on their own use of spoken English in a variety of contexts. There are two written examinations at the end of the course, one focusing on reading non-fiction texts and one on conveying information and ideas in writing. This GCSE course is fast-paced but students are offered plenty of individual support to help them improve on their previous grade.
