ESOL How will this course help me? This is a course for people who wish to learn or improve their English. The course is for learners who do not speak English as their first language. Who is the course for? This course is for anyone who wants to learn how to speak & write in English What can I expect to Learn? To improve all aspects of written and spoken English. Learners will be assessed and individual learning plans will be developed. Learners will have the opportunity to practise reading, writing, speaking and listening. How will I learn? There may be demonstrations, a chance to ask questions and to practice at your own pace. There are no exams or formal assessments. If you think you may need extra help with your learning, please ask your tutor or the Centre staff. We will try to help you. How will I know how well I am doing? The tutor will help you to recognise how well you are doing and what you need to do to improve. This may include developing your own learning plan. Will I have to do any work outside of the sessions? You may be given tasks or activities to complete to practice in between and prepare for the next and future sessions. You tutor will give guidance at the first session. What will I need to provide? Bring along a pen and note pad – should you wish to make notes. Will there be any other costs? You may be provided with a reading list to support your learning. All of the costs of this course are covered in the advertised course fee. What can I do next? Discuss your next steps with your tutor or the Centre staff.
