Art and Design Level 2 Diploma

This course is suitable for students who have artistic ability, who enjoy being creative and who are considering a future in art or design. It gives you the opportunity to develop your creative, analytical and practical skills. Your qualification portfolio will be built up over the year through varied projects and experimental work. You will also study relevant artists, designers and art movements as well as researching jobs in the art and design industry. Project work over the year includes 2D work (eg drawing, painting, printmaking and digital media) and 3D work (such as ceramics, metal and woodwork and mask making). Several visits are planned throughout the year to a variety of galleries and exhibitions.

Each completed practical project is graded against a unit. All students complete a final personal project which is graded pass, merit or distinction.
