HND in Advanced Practice in Work with Children and Families - Level 5

This is a higher level programme designed for childcare professionals who wish to extend their knowledge. The course encompasses learning around subjects such as legislation and its effects on practice, leadership, communication, in depth analysis of child development, theorists and early pioneers of play theory. Higher Nationals provide a nationally recognised qualification offering career progression and professional development for those already in employment and opportunities to progress into higher education. This qualification is accepted for entry to further study at HE level for a full degree as well to begin Early Years Practitioner Status. As higher level learners you will be expected to be develop skills in analysing, synthesising and summarising information critically as well as the ability to read and use appropriate literature with a full and critical understanding. You will show the ability to think independently and solve problems obtaining and integrating several lines of subject-specific evidence to formulate and test hypotheses. Part of the programme calls for a research project to be undertaken and you will be designing, planning, conducting and reporting on early years research, demonstrating the capacity to give a clear and accurate account of a subject, marshal arguments in a mature way and engage in debate and dialogue both with specialists and non-specialists.

Name: HND in Advanced Practice in Work with Children and Families - Level 5 Qualification title: BTEC Higher National Diploma in Advanced Practice in Work with Children and Families Qualification type: Assessment To achieve the HND Advanced Practice in Working with Children & Families - Level 5 you will need to complete assessments for the individual units. All units will be individually graded as £pass£, £merit£ or £distinction£. In the first year all learners will be enrolled on the Higher National Certificate. Once that is completed learners can then be registered and enrolled on the Higher National Diploma. If at the end of the first year, learners wish to take a break from learning, it is then possible to leave with a Level 4 qualification and be able to return to Level 5 at a time that suits.
