You will study the following midules on this course: - Health & Safety- - Digital Imaging and Manipulation- - History of Art and Photography- - Darkroom Practice- - Studio Practice- - Life Drawing- - Location Techniques- - Experimental Imagery- - Trips to exhibitions and galleries. You will produce project work in the first year that covers all these areas- with additional sessions studying observational and figure drawing and art & design history. The second year goes into more depth in all of the briefs you are assigned- but you will have more freedom to specialise in the area you wish to progress into through Pathway and Final Major Projects.

A manual SLR 35mm film camera is a requirement of the course- with an upgrade to a DSLR by the 2nd year. A basic photography kit must be purchased upon enrolment at £80. There are also a variety of compulsory trips and visits which can range from £5 to £80- with the possibilities of additional overseas trips in the second year. In the 2nd year there is a studio fee. An A3 portfolio and printing costs are additional. Good levels of English and Maths are important for your success in your course- your chosen vocation and life. Throughout your course you will continue to develop your English and Maths skills in your vocational classes.
