You will learn about the opportunities for and benefits of leading an active life cycle as well as performing, analysing and evaluating roles in sport as a player, coach or official. AS course: 1st Year Unit 1 OPPORTUNITIES FOR AND THE EFFECTS OF LEADING A HEALTHY AND ACTIVE LIFESTYLE: This focuses on how understanding the body and its systems can help lead to a healthy and active lifestyle. Unit 2 ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AS A PERFORMANCE AND/OR IN AN ADOPTED ROLE/S: You will have the opportunity to perform, analyse and evaluate the execution of core skills/techniques in isolation and in structured practice as either a player/performer, coach/leader or official. A2 course: 2nd Year Unit 3 OPTIMISING PERFORMANCE AND EVALUATING CONTEMPORARY ISSUES WITHIN SPORT: This unit includes 3 sections – Applied Physiology to optimise performance; Psychological aspects that optimise performance and Evaluating contemporary influences. Unit 4 OPTIMISING PRACTICAL PERFORMANCE IN A COMPETITIVE SITUATION: The nature of the unit requires you to utilise the knowledge and understanding developed from the course to improve your own personal performance, as a practical performer, coach/leader or official in one activity.
