Biology GCE AS Level (OCR)

This course introduces students to some of the exciting new advances being made in modern Biology, including the influence of genes on our development, environmental issues and some of the ethical and technological aspects of the subject. It covers topics that include: cell structure, enzymes, DNA and mitosis, as well as a number of new topics. They will study topics as diverse as the effect of diet and exercise on the body, heart disease, AIDS and immunity as well as biodiversity and evolution. They will also study the structure and function of the heart, blood and blood vessels in mammals, as well as the transport system in plants.
