This two year course provides a foundation for careers in the Fitness Industry enabling progression into careers such as personal trainer, gym instructor sports therapist or into Higher Education to prepare for careers such as Physiotherapy and P.E. teaching. Learning is enriched through work experience; there are opportunities to be placed with local schools, gyms, leisure centres and exercise referral schemes. The course includes a mixture of practical and classroom based learning through units such as Sport Massage, Anatomy and Physiology, Fitness Testing and Fitness Instruction. The course incorporates Functional Skills English, Maths or ICT (according to need) the CYQ Level 2 Gym Instructor Award and Level 3 Personal Trainer (subject to validation)
