Science BTEC Level 3 Certificate

This is a vocationally-related course, focussing on work in the medical sciences. The major emphasis of this course is on how Science is applied and used in a laboratory setting. Course outline In your first year you will complete 3 units to gain the certificate (equivalent to 1 AS Level) or 6 units and gain the Subsidiary Diploma (equivalent to one A level). You can get a two A level equivalent by continuing into the second year and completing the Diploma. BTEC Certificate (Year One) This course consists of the three core units listed below. You can progress on to the Subsidiary Diploma in year 2.

Entry requirements

At the beginning of 2011 all the science labs were completely refurbished. As well as a full range of science equipment the new labs incorporate ICT facilities including computers and interactive whiteboards. There is also a new computer suite dedicated to science students and of particular benefit to BTEC students.
