AS Level (Year 1) Unit 1: Categorising Texts This unit covers the introductory aspects of the study of one language, using a variety of texts. Unit 2: Creating Texts You will produce two pieces of original writing, two commentaries and two style models. A2 Level (Year 2) Unit 3:Developing Language This unit covers the ways in which language is developed in society as well as individually. Unit 4: Language Investigation This unit allows you to apply the knowledge gained to investigate a topic of choice and create a media text covering a topic connected to your investigation. Assessed by coursework and exam. This A Level can lead to further study at university on courses such as English,Media Studies, Linguistics and Journalism.
