An advanced course for those who have completed at least 3 years’ worth of study be it with St Helens ACL or at other venues. Learners on these courses have as targets to amplify their oral and written vocabulary, increase their command of some finer points of grammar, be introduced to alternative resources such as books/recipes/games in Spanish and test their own linguistic limits. Each session usually begins with a personal news slot where learners can orally contribute something they have done since the last class or are about to do before the next one. Once a term each participant prepares and presents a short talk in class on a subject of their choice with personalised feedback from the tutor. Written and preparation tasks are set routinely for home work at the learners’ request in order to consolidate or extend what has been studied that day.
