This qualification aims to provide learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective fitness instruction sessions via the context of gym-based exercise. Learners succesfully completing this qualification will be able to gain access to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPS) at Level 2. The learner will study 4 mandatory units of: Anatomy and Physiology; know how to support clients who take part in exercise and physical activity; health and safety and welfare in a fitness environment and principles of exercise, fitness and health. Two more units of planning gym based exercise and instructing gym based exercise. Progression will be on to a level 3 Personal Training Course or other specific level 3 qualification.
