This is an ideal course if you're looking for basic to intermediate training in modern cookery, food and drink service and customer service skills. You'll gain valuable experience by working in our well equipped kitchens and restaurant and learn the fundamental knowledge that's needed for a successful career in this competitive industry. During this intensive course, you'll get a combination of practical training, theory sessions, lectures and demonstrations. You'll be supervised by our highly experienced hospitality professionals. There will be opportunities for you to enter national competitions and go to key industry events. You'll normally come into college from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend and evening events. You will gain a VRQ Level 1 Food Preparation and Cooking, VRQ Level 1 Food and Beverage Service and Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English. You could continue your studies with our VRQ Level 2 Professional Cookery Diploma, start a career in the food and drink service sector or consider an apprenticeship programme.
