Art and Design Foundation Learning

This is a lively and fun course designed to help you develop skills in the fields of Art and Design as well as improving your literacy and numeracy. You will do project work in photography, ceramics, textiles, drawing and graphic design, and will gain a realistic idea about career possibilities in art, design and the media. Dedicated tutorial support will encourage you to develop relevant life and work skills, and build your confidence in your abilities and talents. At the end of the course, you wil produce a final major project and will mount an exhibition of your work. You will also study for qualifications in Functional Skills and Personal and Social Development. This course is specifically designed for students aged 16-24 who are interested in the area of art, design and media.

Entry requirements

A materials fee of approximately £15 is payable at enrolment to cover specialist materials and materials used for demonstrations. In addition to this, students may need to purchase specialist equipment or materials needed to complete projects work. Students aged 19 and over on 1st September will be required to pay exam fees at enrolment.
