This Apprenticeship is employed status only (minimum 30 hours per week). YMCA Training provides several different pathways for Motor Vehicle Apprenticeships, these include Vehicle Fitting, Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Heavy Vehicle) and Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle). During your Apprenticeship you will develop practical skills in all areas of motor vehicle from repair work, replacing tyres and brakes to engine removal and replacement, assess vehicle problems and identify solutions, understand how vehicle parts work through practical and computer-based programmes, understand health and safety issues in the workplace and deal with customers.

Assessment for your qualifications will be by a variety of methods such as observations in your workplace, taped interviews, personal statements and witness testimonies.
