This course is for anyone wishing to improve their mathematical skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification, which is a frequent requirement of employers and an entry requirement for many institutions of higher education. GCSE Mathematics is the assessment of Key Stage 4 of the National Curriculum in Mathematics. The course contains work on number, algebra, graphs, shape and space (geometry) and data handling (probability and statistics). Throughout, the course work will be linked, wherever appropriate, to everyday situations. How is the course delivered? The majority of classes are delivered with two and a half hours guided learning per week. Various styles of delivery will be used including some formal teaching, group work and invidivual learning. The styles will vary from group to group and from topic to topic and will reflect the nature and preferences of the group.
