Overview A qualification designed to be used in a range of occupational areas including engineering. In particular this qualification is applicable to plant and machinery operators. Who is the qualification suitable for? ? learners employed in plant operations as a plant operator required to prepare the plant or machinery before operating to either lift or transfer loads. ? learners employed in plant operations as a slinger signaller/loader securer required to prepare the plant or machinery before operating to direct and guide the movement and to arrange and secure the load. Qualification structure This qualification comprises of seven pathways - Fork-lift Trucks, Loading and Securing Plant, Cranes and Specialist Lifting Plant, Extracting Plant, Transporting Loads, Accessing Plant, and Attachments. From their chosen pathway, the learner is required to complete two mandatory assessment routes, plus the required number of optional assessment routes. Related qualifications How is the qualification delivered? Competence based qualifications are undertaken in the learner’s workplace. How is the qualification assessed? Assessment will be carried out in the workplace or other appropriate environment via observation and the collation of evidence in a portfolio.
