Animal Care (Full Time Programme)

Is it for me? If you love animals and would like to work with them and learn all basics aspects of caring for them, then this could be the course for you. What does the course involve? During the course, you will achieve the Award and Certificate in Practical Small Animal Care Skills. You will also gain employability skills and when ready will attend work placement within the animal care industry. This will enable you to put what you’ve learnt into practice in a real life environment. As part of the course, you will also study maths and English (if required). Practical activities and experiences include: You will develop your knowledge and skills in animal husbandry, including: feeding, cleaning, grooming, giving medication and health checks. You will also benefit from visits to animal care establishments to look at various animal care career opportunities and you will attend a suitable work experience placement. What can I progress onto? You can progress onto the Level 2 in Animal Care or you may wish to start an Apprenticeship within the animal care industry.
