This course is for delegates with little or no experience requiring certification in the maintenance and safe use of chainsaws to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 regulations. This course is physical in nature and requires the carrying and movement of items in a woodland forest environment. Course Content ? Daily and routine maintenance of the chainsaw ? Protective clothing and safety features of the chainsaw ? Chainsaw sharpening and guide bar maintenance ? Power unit maintenance ? Pre start checks ? Fuelling and starting a chainsaw ? Operate the chainsaw safely ? Crosscut felled timber ? Fell small trees safely and accurately ? Fell leaning trees using a safe technique ? Sned or de-limb felled trees ? Take down hung up trees using hand tools ? Health and Safety issues covered in depth including risk assessments and emergency procedures Course duration 5 day programme
