The Pearson BTEC National Certificate is a technician level part-time course. You will learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you will develop the skills you need to start or progress in an engineering career. The course is made up of 11 units - five core units and six specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study particular areas in depth. The course content includes: - Business Systems for Technicians; - Mechanical Principals and Applications; - Computer Aided Design; - Engineering Materials; - Engineering Mathematics; - Project; - CNC Machining; - Project Management Techniques; - Design for Manufacture. The delivery of the course programme is underpinned by practical and theoretical subjects that provide an insight into a number of aspects within the field of Mechanical Engineering including Computer Aided Design, Robotics and CNC Machining.
