Word Processing In this section you are going to learn how to use a common word processing program, Microsoft Word 2003. If you are using a computer outside of the Student Computer Centres that has a different version of Microsoft Word installed you should still be able to follow the exercises although you may find that your screens will appear slightly different to the Figures in this Workbook. By the end of this practical exercise, you should be able to: 1. Open, save and close a word processing document 2. Enter text 3. Format the document 4. Insert a symbol and use the spell checker 5. Select, copy and move blocks of text 6. Close the word processing document and exit MS Word 7. Count the number of words in a document 8. Change line spacing 9. Create a bulleted/numbered list 10. Use undo/redo 11. Use headers and footers
