This Advanced Beauty Therapy qualification is for anyone aged 19+, whether new to the beauty industry or those who have experience and want to further develop the skills needed to be a professional Beauty Therapist. There has been significant growth in the number of beauty businesses and in the number of existing beauty therapy salons now offering an extended range of services including advanced treatments and services. In the UK there are 4,800 beauty salons and 5,800 hairdressing salons offering beauty therapy treatments. With an ever-ageing population seeking the ultimate anti-ageing techniques, and today's hard working lifestyles driving luxury based relaxing and stress reducing treatments, the trend is set to stay. By gaining a Level 3 in Beauty Therapy as a Recognised Vocational Diploma from City and Guilds you will be able to offer a wide range of professional advanced treatments to your clients, and have a clear understanding of how your performance is directly related to the success of the business and your own remuneration. The services taught will include massage routines including full body, Indian head and stone, facial electrical; including non-surgical facelift and Aromatherapy using pre blended oils. Courses start throughout the year at various locations across the Wakefield District, and you may be entitled to a free course. Name: Beauty Therapy NVQ Diploma in Level 3 Qualification title: NVQ Diploma in Beauty Therapy - Massage (QCF) Qualification type: Assessment The course is assessed entirely by coursework therefore students need to have good time management skills and be able to work to targets and deadlines. Practical assessments will be carried out in the salon following training and practice. Theory work covers working practices and procedures, anatomy and physiology. There are a number of online tests to be completed as part of the course. Tests require a 70% achievement rate. Learners will be expected to complete study at home and will need to practice all treatments in-between sessions. As part of the awarding body's quality assurance processes you may be required to attend; as a one off, on a different day. You will be given 2 weeks' prior notice.
