You can open up an incredible world of opportunities for work, not only within the technology industry but also in supporting roles within other industries with a qualification in Information Technology. Get on with Computers, one out of our range of ICT courses, is for anyone aged 19+. It offers Functional ICT Skills which are practical skills that provide an individual with the essential knowledge, skills and understanding to use IT in many diverse situations, enabling them to operate confidently, effectively and independently in life and at work. The qualification starts at Entry 3, which are most suitable for beginners or people who want to increase their confidence in using IT skills. Level 1 is more suited to learners who have already gained a good basic knowledge of IT applications and how they work, including email and internet. Computers are an essential part of employment and are among the fundamental transferable skills desired by employers, don't miss out. Courses start throughout the year at various locations across the Wakefield District, and you may be entitled to a free course depending on your circumstances, please contact the Centre for further details.

Name: Get On with Computers Qualification title: Functional Skills qualification in Information Communication Technology (ICT) at Entry 3 Qualification type: Assessment Learners will be expected to complete study at home and will need access to mobile technology and Wi-Fi or internet access. Learners without this facility will be able to attend centres on days outside of their timetable to study. The coursework is modular and you will build on your skills and confidence week by week. Your tutor will give you regular feedback on your progress and what you need to do to improve on weaker areas. The course has a 2 hour end examination which is a compulsory requirement of the course and may be scheduled at another centre. Your tutor will inform you of the planned location, date and time within the first term. The course fees are inclusive of the Examination fees.
