There are 3 pathways for this programme, depending on qualifications and the skills of the student: City and Guilds VRQ Level 2 Hairdressing (Certificate) City and Guilds VRQ Level 2 Hairdressing (Diploma) City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing This programme will prepare you with the skills and knowledge in the following hairdressing services: Customer care Consultation skills Shampooing and conditioning hair Cutting hair Blow drying / styling hair Long hair work Colouring / highlighting techniques Perming Health and safety The programme provides the basic skills, understanding and knowledge to embark on a career in the hairdressing industry. There are several course opportunities during this programme. You have the chance to complete work experience in our academy salons, and also have the opportunity to enter a range of regional and national competitions, such as Wella and Francesco competitions. During your time on this programme, you will also take part in external visits, such as The Wella Studios in Manchester to observe celebrity hairdressers and take part in bespoke one day demonstrations on the latest trends and fashions in the industry. We will also visit Winter Gardens in Blackpool for the annual AHT competitions and possibly a chance to visit the Francesco Hair Group salons in Stafford.
