Electrical & Electronic Engineering Extended Diploma Level 3

This course provides a nationally recognised level 3 qualification awarded by Edexcel',' it is equivalent to 3 A levels. It will equip you with the skills and knowledge required of an engineering technician',' improve promotion prospects and provide a progression route to HNC/D in General Engineering or to university. You will study 8 units including 1 mandatory units and 7 specialist units chosen by the college. These include: >> Engineering Project (mandatory) >> Business Operations in Engineering >> Fabrication Processes and Technology >> Further Electrical Principles >> Further Mathematics for Technicians >> Further Mechanical Principles and Applications >> Mechanical Measurement and Inspection Techniques >> Principles and Applications of Analogue Electronics Please note these may be subject to change in line with Edexcel guidelines. All units will be assessed via assignments',' to provide evidence of understanding. Some of these will be 'time constrained' and take place under open book examination conditions. All units must be successfully completed to achieve a qualification. This is a full time course with attendance at college of a maximum of three days each week',' with two additional days of self-study per week. Entry Requirements: You need five GCSEs at A*-C including maths',' English and science. Mature students with relevant employment experience will also be considered. You will complete initial assessments in numeracy and literacy and a short algebra test at interview. Career Options: Upon successful completion you can progress to employment or higher education.
