Duration: 1 year An introduction to the hairdressing industry. In this foundation course you learn basic hairdressing and beauty skills while you develop your literacy',' numeracy',' speaking',' listening and IT so that you can move up to a higher level qualification. You will also cover personal development',' health and safety and teamwork. English and Maths are a compulsory part of this course. You will need to buy specialist equipment and clothing. Entry Requirements: You need four GCSEs grades D-G',' including maths and English at grade E',' good communication skills and good personal presentation. Your acceptance on the course is subject to a successful interview and references. Career Options: After successful completion you can progress on to a Level 2 course in either hair design or beauty therapy.
