Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment (90Credits)

This is a one year course, with learners having the opportunity to progress onto a second year to achieve the full Level 3 qualification. Learners who do not progress onto year 2 will achieve the equivalent of 1.5 A Levels. If you are looking to gain employment in the Construction industry then this full time course is the route for you. The course will give you the knowledge required to gain employment on site. The units you will cover include: Topographic Surveying in Construction and Civil Engineering - carry out land surveys using appropriate equipment to produce accurate drawings, Design Procedures in Construction - learn about construction methods and factors that influence design, and develop skills in communicating ideas and in translating construction details into written and graphical instructions, Construction in Civil Engineering - learn the techniques, processes and materials used in the construction of civil engineering works, Sustainable construction - start to understand which features of the natural environment need to be protected and how the activities of the construction and built environment sector impact on the natural environment, computer-Aided Drafting and Design for Construction - gain knowledge of how CADD is used to produce drawings and skills in using CADD software to produce 2D drawings and 3D models.
