English Literature A level

This course provides you with the opportunity to read a range of texts from different periods. You will study a variety of modern and classic literature, focusing on specific forms and conventions of drama, prose and poetry. You will develop your analytical skills through discussion and evaluation of literary criticism.You can look forward to studying an eclectic range of literature from Shakespeare to Blake to Margaret Atwood.You will explore the literary canon and debate different critical interpretations of your set texts.The course is taught and studied within a linear structure and you will develop and refine your literary skills over time including independent research and you will be empowered to take ownership of your own learning.
