Graphic Communication is an exciting area of study, involving the generation and development of ideas about visual communication and the production of wide ranging outcomes (in this respect it is unlike the Design & Technology syllabus at GCSE. On this course you will undertake practical art and design assignments based on drawing, use of colour, layout, printing, animation, illustration and typography. You will then learn how to design on the computer screen. critical analysis of design history and the study of recent and current practitioners are incorporated in to all the units. Written annotation is expected throughout and there is a compulsory requirement for a piece of written communication (essay of 2,000 approx.))in unit 3, which is usually taken in Y2.
