On this course you will study nine mandatory units including communication in health and social care, health and safety, duty of care and safeguarding individuals. You then have a choice of optional knowledge and competence units covering different areas of health and social care such as supporting the use of medication, care planning, end of life care, supporting those with disabilities, learning disabilities or dementia. You have the opportunity to take a general qualification in health and social care, or they may specialise in dementia care, or learning disabilities.
