On this course, the second year of the A Level, you will continue your study of a wide variety of uses of ICT systems. The focus of the practical work is the advanced use of database packages to meet business requirements. After you have developed skills in the use of relational databases you will investigate an IT problem of your own choosing. You will develop skills to investigate the IT requirements of the problem, design a solution, construct the solution then test and evaluate it. The practical work will be supported by developing your understanding of the role of ICT. This includes topics such as networking and the Internet, working in ICT, organisation of data, systems development and design, security and management of ICT systems.
