Who is the course for? This course will appeal to those students who: - Have a keen interest in the application of Physics, Electronics, Engineering, Mechatronics and Robotics - Enjoy studying a subject that is relevant to their own lives and experience - Want the opportunity to carry out practical work as well as class work - Want to study a course that is active and enjoyable - Want to move on to a higher level course The Cambridge Nationals in Systems Control in Engineering will develop learners' understanding of computer and microprocessor applications within engineering and their knowledge of basic electronic principles, applying these to the manufacture of electronic and electrical circuits. What can it lead to? With further training or study, students go into careers such as: - Electrical/Electronic Engineering - Mechatronics - Robotics The course provides a good grounding to go on to a more advanced course such as: A levels or Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Engineering or related Science / Technology areas. What will I study? This a one year course which covers a wide range of engineering disciplines studied alongside GCSE English, Maths and Physics. In addition you will complete the BTEC Level 1 Foundation Project (Mechatronics and Robotics). Students will also use Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to design and test electronic circuits. The engineering modules include; Electronic Principles Simulate , construct and test electronic circuits Engineering Applications of Computers Process Control Systems

Each unit is assessed by assignments which are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction. Each unit is then given a grade, with a final grade of Pass, Merit, Distinction or Distinction* awarded for the overall qualification.
